![]() Military Sealift Command, Deputy Commander to 1995. Responsible for oversight of a worldwide logistical support system for the Department of Defense. Oversaw an annual budget of $4 billion and managed over 8,000 personnel, civilian and military. Naval Forces Korea, Commander to 1993. Directed all operations and training for Navy and Marine Corps forces within the Republic of Korea. Provided continuous evaluation and management of naval personnel strength and logistics support required to support any North Korean contingency which may occur on the South Korean peninsula. Primary naval advisor to the four-star Commander-in-Chief for the Combined Forces, Korea. United States Member of the Military Armistice Commission, Korea to 1993. Responsible to the Commander, United Nations Command for negotiations with North Korea concerning all Armistices matters. As such had direct relations with all embassies and consulates in South Korea who were signers of the Armistice Agreement after the Korea War. Also responsible for the security of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) at Panmunjom, Korea. In this position, he commanded a staff of 60 personnel both U.S. and South Korean, and was administratively responsible for a combined security battalion of 1,800 personnel on the DMZ. Mine Warfare Command, Commander to 1991. Responsible for a global network of mine warfare centers, 15 in all, providing support and expertise to the Department of Defense in all aspects of Mine Warfare. Commanded a worldwide staff of 2,000 personnel with an annual budget of $700 million. Commanding Officer of various U.S. Navy destroyers and cruisers to 1988. Last ship to command was USS FOX CG 33. Participated in the Persian Gulf War. Executive Officer of USS Koelsch DE 1049 and USS Adroit MSO 509.
